- Job Description
The Business Development Manager will lead, co-ordinate and support efforts to create or secure new business. The role is to include the gathering and assessment of market data, identifying opportunities, meeting customers and suppliers, assisting with the development of business acquisition and partnering strategies, overseeing the submission of bids and proposals and generally promoting the company.
The job also includes close liaison with other Business Units within the organisation to identify and promote new opportunities and to co-ordinate appropriate joint efforts in helping to secure new business.
The Business
The organisation are the largest Supportability Engineering organisation in Europe and are currently involved with some of the most exciting and complex projects in the world. They are a leading consultancy in design, engineering, project support and project management across the Naval Architecture, Marine, electrical and mechanical engineering, Renewable Energy, Defence, Offshore and Oil and Gas markets.
Key tasks:
Monitor and report opportunities
Engage new customers
Develop proposals to meet client requirements
Maintain and develop existing customer base
Meet and exceeds budget targets
Continually engage and involve key players from within the business to potential projects and opportunities
Monitor progress of current projects
Travel to clients premises for project discussion
Develop internal staff capability with a view to a customer facing role
Demonstrate sound knowledge of industry and what going on in the industry
Qualifications & Experience
Ideally you should be qualified to degree standard with relevant industry experience in an Engineering discipline.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to think laterally, have a flexible outlook to with a driven attitude to win work to meet business success.
The individual mist be a self starter, disciplined and tenacious with the ability to build relationships quickly in the industry to open doors into existing and new markets both within the UK and internationally.
The ideal candidate would have relevant experience gained from within the Survey, Inspection or maintenance sector.
